Fantastic new property details ready for action

Making your property look its best in print and online is crucial to securing that buyer or tenant. We've been working hard on how we're marketing our clients' properties - and now think we have better marketing than anyone else around here.

Our newly-designed property details not only look good, they contain some mould-breaking new features too:

NEW editorial descriptions

Goodbye to descriptions which are loved by agents and loathed by buyers! Instead, meet Sam Horscraft, our brilliant new copywriter who's here to create a wonderful 'editorial' for your property, giving buyers and tenants a feel for what your property is really like.

NEW additional information

Our new property details also have a list of the things people really want to know about a property – like the distance to schools, what the parking is like, how far the parks are and plenty more.

NEW 'bear in mind' section

Buyers and tenants hate it when agents gloss over a property’s obvious shortcomings. With our new details, we’ll be upfront about a property being, say, on a busy road, and even try to offer a positive aspect, that it might offer more space for the money; for example. If the busy road is still a problem, well, it saves a wasted viewing. Meanwhile buyers appreciate our honesty, and are more trusting of our advice when they do eventually find the property they want – with all parties happier all round.

Great photographs

If you’ve been house-hunting, you’ll know that photos are really important, which is why we make sure we take the time to get the shots that will make your property stand out in property listings, and look really good in print and online. We even hire a professional photographer if needed to give your property sale that extra boost.

A floorplan with every property

The only way to truly understand the flow, size and shape of a property is with a floorplan, now included on every set of property details. Alongside our great photography, buyers get a true feel for your property – especially families who can see how their lives will fit in to that space.

If you'd like to know more about our terrific new marketing of your property, please get in touch and we'd be delighted to show you more.

Louisa's delicious butterscotch and cinnamon muffins

Thanks to our very own 'Star Baker' Louisa Willer, from our lettings team, for this recipe for delicious butterscotch and cinnamon muffins.

They make a perfect snack to share with friends and family over the festive period, and the aroma of cinnamon coming from the oven will make any home smell like Christmas!

Ingredients

- 260g of plain flour (sifted)
- 220g of soft brown sugar
- 1 packet of butterscotch angel delight
- 1 packet of vanilla angel delight
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 250ml of water
- 4 medium eggs
- 190ml of sunflower oil
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Topping

- 125g of demerara sugar

- 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon

Method

- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line a muffin tin with muffin cases (the recipe will make approximately 18 muffins).

- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, Angel Delight mixes, baking powder and cinnamon.

- In a measuring jug, combine the water, eggs, oil and vanilla extract. Pour into the dry ingredients and stir gently until combined.

- Fill the muffin cases with the mixture until they are two-thirds full.

- Bake at 180°C for 15-20 minutes, or until a cocktail stick inserted into the centre of the cakes comes out clean.

- For the topping, mix the Demerara sugar and the remaining cinnamon together and sprinkle over the tops of the muffins.

- Allow to cool, then serve and enjoy.

How the Christmas story was nearly different...

Although tucking into an ever-so-slightly overdone Christmas pudding and struggling with constructing the latest must-have toy is what Christmas is all about for many people, it shouldn't be forgotten why we celebrate Christmas. But what you may not know is how the Nativity story we all know and love was almost very different…

Over 2000 years ago Phillip Mann’s Bethlehem branch was thriving. Nearly every inn was being cared for by the lettings team and had been for many years.

Very late one evening Mr Mann heard a knock on the door, and standing in front of him was a young couple who looked, it must be said, somewhat distressed.

The gentleman spoke: ‘Please, my wife is heavily pregnant and we desperately need somewhere to stay. We have looked everywhere with no luck’.

Mr Mann, being a personable fellow, could see and feel their need. He had a look through his files and contacted an innkeeper he knew had space where he kept his animals. The young couple thanked Mr Mann for his help and made their way towards the inn.

Unbeknown to Mr Mann, they were to become a very famous young couple indeed!

With best wishes for Christmas from us all here at Phillip Mann Estate Agents: Seaford, Newhaven, Peacehaven – and Bethlehem.
